Born July 3rd, 2015 in a 256 square foot studio space in the back of the Studios On Sheridan at The Sunbeam Building, conceived in my basement's makeshift work space. Born from a refusal to give up on a dream that I thought was stolen from me. Born from a need to prove to toxic people that I AM capable, that I AM enough.
Born out of a love for reading and collecting and holding and smelling and petting books while they whisper sweet dreams to my waking mind. Born from a deep need to serve the community I love dearly, to bring them together and watch them grow. Born from the desire to advocate for others like me who find their safety in the written word.
When I first built my website, I knew I needed to consolidate what I do at Lit. on Fire into a few words that are meaningful, precise, and capture the essence of this entity. Those words are even truer now, and will always serve as the standard of excellence I hold myself to as the business grows, ages, and blossoms into its full potential.

So join us in celebration on Friday, July 5th from 5-9 pm for our Bookstore Birthday Bash as we celebrate how far I've come in these four short years and share a look forward toward great things to come. Some of you know how much I've sacrificed to be here, and I thank you for going out of your way to support me when things are difficult. So in turn, I will be celebrating you too, because I wouldn't be where I am now without you there to hold me up.
As we move into the dog days of summer, I will be leaning on my Patreon much more than I have before, because the hottest summer months are the most expensive as far as overhead, but also the lowest income months because folks are on vacation, staying inside, or at the pool to try to beat the heat. If you would like to support me through the worst retail months, I would be forever grateful, but by no means is it ever required. https://www.patreon.com/litonfireusedbooks
Thank you all. I love you more than there are stars in the sky. <3
